以前以為 Small Faces 這首歌是原曲，後來看到更多資料才知道不是。這首 You Need Loving 歌詞明顯採用 Muddy Waters 的 You Need Love (由 Willie Dixon 創作)，旋律及編曲則很像 John Lee Hooker 的 Boom! Boom! (John Lee Hooker 自己的創作)。

但在 Small Faces 的唱片中卻寫創作人是 Lane & Marriot，這就是抄襲囉，至少人家可能據此控告，不知 Willie Dixon 及 John Lee Hooker 兩位前輩有沒有真的去控告 Small Faces。

據說 Led Zeppelin 這首 Whole Lotta Love 在唱片中註明的創作人是 Bonham/Jones/Page/Plant，就是齊柏林四人。

但這歌詞其實還是採用 Muddy Waters 的 You Need Love (由 Willie Dixon 創作)，也可能他們只是採用自 Small Faces 的 You Need Loving，反正都差不多。

至於 Whole Lotta Love 的旋律大致上是 Led Zeppelin 自己的新創作，但編曲有 Small Faces - You Need Loving，尤其後段轉變成主唱的呢喃嘶吼再接回主歌的安排實在太像了。

綜觀詞曲相似度，可判斷 Led Zeppelin 這歌是直接取自 Small Faces，可能沒有參考到更古老的歌。

1985年 Muddy Waters 控告 Led Zeppelin 此曲抄襲他的歌詞，最後庭外和解。
