註：最後一首歌「As Tears Go By (1964 version)」是我自己加播的，並未收錄在「The Island Anthology」精選輯裡。這首「As Tears Go By」是1964年 Marianne Faithfull 出道的第一首單曲，當時她人美歌聲甜，是不折不扣的清純美少女。

後來她因為吸毒而中斷歌唱事業十年，等復出後人變滄桑，嗓子也壞光光，這次播放的「The Island Anthology」精選輯都是她70年代末期復出後的作品，所以，歌聲全都是破的。Disc2 的第8首歌是她以破嗓音重新詮釋的「As Tears Go By」，可以和1964年甜美的原曲做個比較。在這先單獨將這兩首歌擺在一起播吧！

Marianne Faithfull 簡介

40年前，她剛踏進歌壇，人美聲甜，唱著「The Beatles」「The Rolling Stones」的時代曲，前途似乎充滿期盼，流行世界又一位可人兒做著大明星的夢，那是1964年，她才18歲。

4年之後，她又在銀幕上找到自己繼續造夢的天地，與 Alain Delon 合作了她的處女電影「Girl on a Motorcycle」-- 她著一件黑色的皮質夾克，是名副其實的冷美人、鐵女子。

膽大如她，毫不忌諱的裸體演出讓喜歡她的人發現她甜美清純的外表下是狂野和不羈，她的情人是「The Rolling Stones」的壞小子 Mick Jagger，不斷在上世紀60年代掀起音樂的浪潮。而整個60年代對於她，卻如此美妙。

她的名字 -- Marianne Faithfull -- 本該被更多人記得，但毒品敗壞了她的名聲，毀掉了她光明的星途，也損害了她的歌喉，從天堂到地獄，10多年的時間，她人間蒸發。

等到她重獲新生，當初的甜與美都凝固在記憶裏了，喚醒記憶的卻是她蒼涼與嘶啞的歌聲，這是另一個 Marianne Faithfull，音樂故事中少有的奇跡，原來只有科幻電影才可以出現的生命再造，在現實中也同樣可以出現。

今天的 Marianne Faithfull 也已經不是過去那個只會唱別人歌曲的豆蔻少女，歷練過磨難，才更懂得要用音樂講述自己的故事與心情 .........

......... 現在 Marianne Faithfull 的作品大部分歌詞都出自她自己的手筆，歌詞不依靠另類偏鋒獲取石破天驚的效果，都是些淡淡的心情小品，這樣的平白與簡單，一旦經過她獨特淒美的嗓音潤色，便有了化腐朽為神奇的驚人效果，同樣的歌若是換成他人演繹，也許就會大打折扣，Marianne Faithfull 這種於平淡中呈現的奇妙化合作用也是她重生以後所有唱片的共同特質，算來時間也接近20年，在音樂的世界自成她獨特的風格，不會大紅大紫，卻歷久如新。
