當年欣賞西洋歌曲的環境都很簡陋，經濟狀況也不是很好，所以大部份都是買「學生之音」或「冠軍集錦」之類的選輯翻版唱片來聽，便宜（我從10.-/片，買到30.-/片，民國60年到67年）又大碗（一張唱片12/14首左右，TOP 40幾乎都可以囊括進來）。而這張專輯是我最早期買的幾張專輯唱片之一，算是從選輯唱片轉跨入專輯唱片領域的啟蒙專輯之一。從此發現專輯唱片的內容是這麼的精采（當然也有爛透了的），這麼豐富，有如發現新大陸一般的興奮，從此就踏上了這條不歸之路。

Lobo 的歌總是這麼舒服啊！
有些專輯真的是爛透了，除了主打歌能聽之外，其他的不曉得在幹什麼。現在專輯還常常一曲多版，甚至再附個卡拉OK版，一張專輯其實只有七、八首歌。
我第一張接觸的專輯是 Kenny Rogers - 20 Greatest Hits (1983)，其實這也只是精選輯，但是我第一次聽一整捲都是單一歌手的作品。這捲卡帶是我移民美國的舅舅送我的。
Kenny Rogers & Dottie West 這首 'Til I Can Make It On My Own 原於1979年發行，亦有收錄進 Kenny Rogers 這張精選輯。Dottie West 唱歌超好聽！

後來我陸續買過幾位歌手的精選輯，如 Sheena Easton、Bee Gees、The Carpenters... 等等，第一次真的買歌手的專輯應該是 Laura Branigan - Self Control (1984)，當時覺得「喔喔喔」好好聽。
